B-Movie Man recently had the chance to speak with Actress Angelique Hennessey about her role in the film "Bad Reputation".

Aside from her work in film, Angelique is an accomplished model who does a lot of work in the classic pin up style of the 30's & 40's. In fact she started her own site Brassknucklebettys Which to quote Angelique: "pays homage to the classic pin up. In a world where nothing is left to the imagination, the Brassknuckle Bettys embody the playful mystery of the vintage glamour girl. They are beautiful, strong, coy and confident - sexy and sweet, worldy and wide-eyed. They'll kick your ass or kiss your battle scars, your call."

Now let's talk Angelique and find out more about film and modelling work....

Angelique, you are starring in a new film coming out this August called “Bad Reputation”. Can you tell us a little bit about the film and your role in it?

“Bad Reputation” is a horror/revenge flick in the vein of Carrie. I play Michelle Rosen, a

high school book worm who goes through something terrible and has to take matters into her own hands to make things right.

Is this your first time working in a horror film?

Sort of. I had done some horror shorts, but this was my first lead in a horror feature.

Your character is a killer in this film, but do you consider her to be a villain?

Absolutely not! Quite the opposite. She's a heroine, and I think anyone who sees it will agree with me.

What was the biggest challenge for you about doing this film?

Besides the gang rape scene, and being duct taped to a tree for 6 hrs straight, it was incredibly emotionally draining. I think that was the hardest part. Screaming and crying for 10 hours a day is pretty tiring!

Angelique at her bloody best in "Bad Reputation!

How much of you are we seeing in the character of Michelle? I mean you don’t seem like the shy, retiring, book worm type.

Believe it or not, I really can be the shy, retiring, book worm type. I was even more so back in high school. I was definitely a loner. I really didn't fit in anywhere.
As far as I was concerned, I was there to learn, not hang out w/ jocks and cheerleaders. No offense to jocks and cheerleaders...

After your experience with “Bad Reputation” do you think you’d like to do more horror films?

I'm down for anything that doesn't suck. I'd love to do more horror, but a good story and character is much more important to me than genre.

“Bad Reputation” comes out on DVD this August, will we have a chance to see the film on the big screen too?

LA residents will! We're playing at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica on August 12th.

Aside from your work in film, I understand that you do modeling as well. Can you tell us a bit about that side of your career?

If I wasn't an actress, I'd be a terrible model. If I wasn't able to be in character when I'm modeling, I'd probably be standing there thinking "why are you taking pictures of me?!".
So I stick to the more "playing-dress up" side of it. Pinup, old Hollywood glamour, film noir, and when I'm lucky I get to be a fairy or mermaid.
(Anyone who wants to see for themselves can pick up the next issue of Rockabilly Magazine at Hot Topic in August. I'm the pinup centerfold.)

I hope everyone has a chance to see you in the next issue of Rockabilly Magazine! Aside from that, are there any other projects that where we can see more of the "playing dress-up" side of you?

Always! Right now I'm working on a pinup calendar for the troops. All the procedes go toward producing it so that we can send out 1,000 copies to active servicemen, free of charge. You can pre-order it at: www.brassknucklebettys.us

Finally, you mention that you like "old Hollywood glamour & film noir". Who's your favorite actress and what's your favorite film from that era?

My favorite actress are Rosalind Russell, Carole Lombard, and Liv Ullmann.
It's impossible for me to pick a favorite film from that era. We'd be here all night. So just to name a few; Bringing up Baby, I Married a Witch, Auntie Mame, and I adore Fred and Ginger musicals, Bogey and Bacall, Hitchcock... I could go on an on.
